Today I am supposed to post about grade 5. Grade 5 was a very hard year for me, yet I can not post about how hard it was for me because I am too focused on a very sad fact.
This week a family from our church is hurting. 45 years old is too young for anyone to die, especially a father of 3 who leaves these kids and his wife behind. The funeral will be on Monday.
How can I write my story when this is so real and so sad. You can see a bit more about this story here
I will fill you in more next week, but for this week I ask you to pray for this family instead of reading about me.

Stopping by from group 6.
I will definitely keep them in prayer at this difficult time!

Jody,
I read about this on your other blog as well. Yes, it sounds so similar to my own experience, and God can give them the peace that passes understanding but there will be many wet pillows and sad days and nights too.
I have had several students whose parents have died and I would write them a personal note in a a journal and explain to them it was a "Dear God," journal. Writing my hurt as well as my happy memories of my earthly father to my heavenly father was a great comfort.
I pray the Lord will show you how you can help bear their burden. Listen to their stories and just be there. Volunteer to do specific things to help rather than saying "If you need anything call me." Just some friendly tips from someone who has been there. Going to pray right now.
Janna,
Thanks for your comment - Every prayer is a blessing to this family.
I will not be attending the funeral b/c I will be staying home watching the 2 young nieces of this family so that the sister can be a support.
All these little things just don't seem to be enough to help them through this difficult time, but I know God will work though the prayers.
Jody
